In a healthy person, levodopa will not cause adverse effects other than nausea. Levodopa in some individuals with dementia can cause hallucinations, confusion. In some individuals taking medicines for high blood pressure, levodopa can cause the blood pressure to drop even lower and result in light-headedness or fainting.
