Parkinson Research Foundation

The MISSION of the Parkinson Research Foundation (PRF) is to help find a cure for Parkinson’s disease through funding research while providing education  and services that enhance the quality of life for Parkinson’s patients, caregivers, and the community worldwide. As a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, all contributions are tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law.

Current Research

The Parkinson Research Foundation proudly supports research at the Neuroregeneration Institute (NRI). NRI has pioneered a cell-based restoration method for Parkinson’s disease by transplanting the patient’s own reprogrammed cells, transforming them into new dopamine neurons. Additional groundbreaking research is being conducted to understand how neurons and glial cells manage brain lipid accumulation and transport challenges.
